Good evening everyone. I've decided to hold Flour Power's grand re-opening on August the first. There will be free food and a game in the way of a cupcake naming contest. It'll be from seven until nine pm. I hope to see you all there.

Oh, a black forest isn't a bad idea. Cherries and chocolate go well together but there's not a lot of things that chocolate doesn't go with.

If I go for anything sweet at all, it's usually fruit flavors. Strawberry ice cream, once in a while.

Everything is going great so far. I've hired a couple of employees already and everything is clean. [ Cleanliness is next to godliness. ]

And I'm glad to hear that things are coming together. I'm looking at a couple of options for work that I think would suit me, so I hope to have that matter in order soon for myself.

And thank you. I'm still not sure I want to settle into staying here and making permanent decisions, but...it looks like I may not have much choice and in the meantime, I need the necessities at the very least.

I know it's what you want to do but for right now, you're stuck here. You're going to have to get used to making permanent decisions elsewise you won't survive here without being miserable.

I'm starting to understand that, though it's an adjustment.

Staying in one place is going to be strange, but I don't see many other options. And I feel like things could be much worse, even knowing the...complications of this place.

It is an adjustment but hey. At least this place provides us with housing so we can have our screaming fits in private.

Never say things couldn't get worse here. They can. And very quickly too.

The apartment helps, definitely. Having at least a little time to make sense of it, and to adjust to the idea. It's not perfect, but I would say it's about the kindest kidnapping I've even been through.

[He chuckles drily.]

I'll try not to Jinx us again, then. I should know better but my circumstances before were unpleasant. So I might be feeling a bit of gratitude, even. Fool that I am.

That's a kind way of thinking about what's happened to us.

Oh yeah? Here I'm not being persecuted for my genetics. I'm not afraid to go out and be who I am. I can exist here... usually peacefully. So, whatever your situation was back home, I wouldn't think you a fool for thinking that way.

I don't know that it's kind...simply that I've been through enough in the past that it's comparatively gentle.

[He pauses, before offering...a little more. Not the details, because Kate is too nice for that, but he can offer a little bit of truth.]

At home, I was hunted by some very dangerous people. They'd caught up with me a few times and none of those have been good. I don't think for a second that this place is *safer*, but at least I'm alive and have a chance to catch my breath.
